Genesis Voter Guide: No On Six
On August 14, 2018, the Genesis Leadership Council voted unanimously to Oppose California State Proposition Six.
Genesis has from our inception, focused on creating equity in transportation. Many of us remember youth who told us stories of their families struggling to pay for their transit passes to go to school. Proposition Six would eliminate funding that would help the transportation infrastructure in our state, as well as take away much-needed funds from Public Transit. While you contemplate voting by mail or in person on November 6th, reflect on your values at the polls. Many of our supporters are hungry to see their Faith In Action. A No-Vote on Proposition Six is one way to preserve the "piece of the pie" that public transit receives so that we can support youth, people with disabilities and seniors.
